LinkedIn Learning packs thousands of courses into short, chapter-based videos covering programming, design, business, and soft skills. Streaming works fine with a good connection, but if you're on a flight or a slow network, offline access matters. Here's how to save lessons beyond the app's built-in offline mode.
LinkedIn Learning's Official Offline Feature
The LinkedIn Learning iOS and Android apps offer offline download for Premium subscribers (Premium Career, Premium Business, or enterprise plans). Tap the download icon on any lesson to save it within the app.
Limitations: files are locked to the app, can't be exported, and expire if your subscription ends.
Saving Lessons as Actual Video Files With Klypio
To get the real video file on your computer or another device:
- Open the lesson in LinkedIn Learning (logged in with a valid Premium account)
- Copy the lesson URL
- Paste into klypio.com/app
- Klypio extracts and downloads the video file
Note: you need a valid LinkedIn Learning account with access to the course. Klypio only downloads content you already have permission to view.
Why Download Instead of Using the App's Offline Mode
- Watch on a TV, large monitor, or tablet without the app installed
- Keep the file permanently, even after a subscription lapses
- Use custom subtitle tools or playback speed adjustments
- Organize lessons into your own folder structure
Organizing Downloaded Lessons
A consistent naming convention saves time when reviewing: LinkedInLearning-CourseName-Chapter-LessonName.mp4. Example: LinkedInLearning-Python-C02-Variables-and-DataTypes.mp4. Consistent naming makes searching and revisiting specific lessons much faster.
