A brand kit is your personal branding resource pack — colors, fonts, logo, thumbnail templates. Having a consistent brand kit makes your channel look more professional and helps your audience recognize you faster. This is a practical guide, no fluff.
Practical note: The best brand kit is the one you'll actually use, not the most beautiful one on paper. Start simple, improve over time.
Core Components of a Brand Kit
1. Color palette (2-3 primary colors)
Choose 2-3 colors as your primary palette. No need for complex color theory — pick colors you like and use them consistently across thumbnails, overlays, and graphics. Save the HEX or RGB codes to reuse exactly.
Free tools: Coolors.co to generate palettes, or extract colors from an image you like using Adobe Color.
2. Fonts (1-2 typefaces)
Choose 1 font for headings (bold, eye-catching) and 1 for body text (easy to read). Google Fonts has many good free options. Fonts that render well on screens: Be Vietnam Pro, Lexend, Nunito.
3. Consistent logo or avatar
You don't need a complex logo when starting out — a consistent avatar across all platforms is enough. Canva has free templates for simple logo creation if needed.
4. Thumbnail templates
Create 2-3 thumbnail templates in Canva or Figma with a fixed layout — same font, colors, text position. Each new video just needs a new image and text swap, no redesigning from scratch.
5. Short intro/outro (optional)
A 5-10 second intro using your brand colors and logo. Many creators use Canva or CapCut templates for this.
Storing and Using Your Brand Kit
- Create a
brand-kit/folder to store all assets: colors (as .ase or text file), fonts, logo (PNG + SVG), templates - Back up this folder alongside your project files
- Share a Canva or Figma link if collaborating with an editor
