How can AI help suggest collab partners?
There are two main ways to use AI when looking for collab partners:
Approach 1 — Use AI to define your criteria
Before searching, use AI to clarify what you are looking for:
"I am a creator in [describe your niche and audience]. I want to find a collab partner for [type of collab]. Please suggest 5–8 criteria for evaluating a suitable partner, with a reason for each."
Approach 2 — Use AI to evaluate specific profiles
Once you have a shortlist, use AI to analyse each candidate:
"Here is information about creator [Name/Channel]: - Niche: [description] - Follower count: [number] - Recent engagement rate: [%] - Recent collaborations: [list] - Public values/positioning: [description] Evaluate how well this creator fits my profile [describe yourself] based on [list your criteria]."
Why you must still verify manually
- AI cannot watch videos: AI cannot assess actual content quality, presentation style, or real tone of voice
- AI may lack recent context: Recent controversies, scandals, or shifts in direction may not be in the AI's training data
- Values must be verified in reality: A creator may say one thing and do another — AI cannot detect this from a profile
Verification checklist before reaching out for a collab
- Watch at least 5–10 of their recent videos — assess tone, quality, and values conveyed
- Check the comments section — how does their audience engage and react?
- Search their name alongside terms like "controversy", "scam" on Google
- Review their past collaborations — what do former partners say about working with them?
- If possible, speak with 1–2 creators who have collaborated with them previously
