Need to extract audio from video? Two popular tools are Klypio and Audacity — but they're designed for very different jobs. I've covered only verifiable features here.
Klypio — download and extract audio from URLs
Klypio is designed to download videos from URLs and extract audio directly — no software installation required (use it via web or Telegram bot).
What Klypio does:
- Accept YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, SoundCloud, and 50+ platform URLs
- Download as MP3, MP4, or other common formats
- Extract audio from video without downloading the video first
- Works via web, Chrome extension, or @KlypioBot on Telegram
- Batch downloads and scheduling (Pro plan)
What Klypio doesn't do:
- Edit audio (cut, merge, noise filter)
- Process local audio files already on your device
Audacity — open-source audio editor
Audacity is a free, desktop audio editing application. It does not download videos from the internet.
What Audacity does:
- Import local audio/video files for editing (with FFmpeg plugin)
- Cut, merge, and edit audio waveforms in detail
- Noise reduction, volume normalization, audio effects
- Export to MP3, WAV, FLAC, and more
What Audacity doesn't do:
- Download video/audio from URLs — requires local files
- Work via web or mobile
Which one should you use?
| Use case | Right tool |
|---|---|
| Extract audio from a YouTube/TikTok URL | Klypio |
| Edit audio after downloading | Audacity |
| Use on mobile | Klypio (@KlypioBot) |
| Noise reduction, waveform editing | Audacity |
| Batch download from multiple platforms | Klypio Pro |
Many creators use both: Klypio to download and extract audio from URLs, then Audacity to edit the file. See also: Klypio vs Y2Mate and Klypio vs Online Video Converter.
Try Klypio at YouTube MP3 Downloader or Klypio app. See Pro plans at pricing page.
