Converto (converto.io) is a well-known YouTube-to-MP3/MP4 converter — simple interface, no sign-up required. I used both tools to download the same videos and compared the results directly.
Where They're Similar
Both are free for basic use, require no app installation, and support downloading YouTube as MP3 or MP4. Both have clean enough interfaces that first-time users can figure them out immediately.
Key Differences
Platform Coverage
Converto focuses primarily on YouTube. Some versions claim Facebook and Vimeo support but it's inconsistent. Klypio covers 50+ platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, Twitch, and SoundCloud — no need to switch tools when downloading from different sources.
Ads and Redirects
Converto has significant ad load and sometimes redirects through intermediate pages before downloading. I had to click carefully to avoid accidental ad taps. Klypio Pro has no ads — the interface is noticeably cleaner.
MP3 Quality
Converto typically outputs MP3 at 128–192kbps. Klypio outputs at higher quality — up to 320kbps depending on the source. The difference is audible on decent headphones when listening to music.
Telegram Bot
This is a feature Converto doesn't have. Klypio has @KlypioBot on Telegram — paste a link into the chat and the bot sends back the file without opening a browser. I use this more than the web tool on mobile.
Download Library
Converto has no download history. Klypio has a library feature — log in to see all previously downloaded videos and audio, synced between the web app and Telegram bot.
Which One to Use
If you only occasionally need YouTube-to-MP3 and don't mind ads, Converto works fine. If you download from multiple platforms, want higher audio quality, or want the Telegram bot — Klypio is the more practical choice.
