Many teams embed Vimeo videos in Notion to host training SOPs, onboarding guides, and product demo recordings. Clean, professional, no YouTube distractions. The downside: if you need to watch offline, or if workspace permissions change, you lose access. Here's how to save those videos before that happens.
Getting the Original Vimeo URL From Notion
- Open the Notion page with the embedded Vimeo player
- Click the video to start playback
- Right-click on the video → select "Copy video address" or "Open in new tab"
- You'll see a URL like
player.vimeo.com/video/XXXXXXX - Convert to standard form:
vimeo.com/XXXXXXX - Paste into klypio.com/app and download
What About Domain-Locked Vimeo Videos?
Vimeo Pro and Business accounts can restrict playback to specific domains. If a video is set to play only on notion.so, the raw Vimeo URL won't work elsewhere — this is a Vimeo privacy setting, not a Klypio limitation. Most training videos aren't domain-locked, but internal corporate content sometimes is.
When Offline Copies Matter
If you're leaving a company, presenting in a low-connectivity location, or simply want an archival copy of training content you paid for access to, downloading now is the reliable option. Notion workspace access can be revoked instantly; a local file can't.
