SaveFrom.net has existed for over 15 years and was once the default choice for millions of users. Klypio is newer, focused on multi-platform support without ads. I tested both for two weeks using the same set of links. Here are the actual results.

What I found during testing
TikTok: SaveFrom frequently returned "Video not supported" errors on newer TikTok links — likely due to TikTok's API changes. Klypio handled every link I tested across two weeks without errors.
YouTube: Both work well. SaveFrom was marginally faster for standard YouTube videos, but Klypio also handles playlists and Shorts.
Ads: The biggest practical difference. SaveFrom layers in multiple ad elements and popup redirects — I accidentally clicked ads 3–4 times before getting to the actual download. Klypio has no ads at all.
When to use which
- Use Klypio if: you download from TikTok, Instagram, Bilibili, Niconico — or you don't want to deal with ads
- Use SaveFrom if: you only download YouTube and prefer a familiar old interface
