Tumblr sits at an unusual intersection of social network and personal blog, and it hosts a surprising amount of creative video content — short clips, animations, film edits, original art. The platform has no download button. Here's how to save videos from any public Tumblr post.
Finding the Post URL
Open the Tumblr post containing the video. Click the post title or the "..." menu to open the individual post page and get its full URL (format: username.tumblr.com/post/XXXXXXX). That's the link you'll need.
Downloading With Klypio
- Copy the Tumblr post URL
- Go to klypio.com/app
- Paste the link — Klypio analyzes the post and finds the embedded video file
- Choose quality and download
Klypio supports videos hosted natively on Tumblr and videos embedded from other platforms within Tumblr posts.
GIFs and Gifsets
Tumblr is known for gifsets — multi-image GIF sequences from films or shows. Klypio can download individual GIFs. For multi-GIF sets, you'd need to download each image separately or use the Pro batch option.
Password-Protected Blogs
If a Tumblr blog is set to private or password-protected, you need the password to access it. Klypio — like any downloader — can only reach publicly available content.
Downloading on Mobile
On a phone, send the Tumblr post link to the Klypio Telegram Bot — it returns the video file directly to your Telegram chat, ready to save to your camera roll.
