You spotted a useful Zalo Story — a recipe clip, a shop's product demo, a moment worth keeping — and remembered it deletes in 24 hours. Zalo offers no save button. Here's what actually works.
What Is a Zalo Story?
Zalo Story (called Nhật ký in Vietnamese) is short-form content — photos or videos — that appears on a user's profile for 24 hours before auto-deleting. Unlike regular Zalo status updates, Story videos have no in-app download or share option. You can view, but not save.
Methods to Save Someone Else's Zalo Story Video
Method 1: Screen Recording
- Android: swipe down → tap Screen Recorder
- iOS: add Screen Recording to Control Center, activate before viewing
- Open the Story → start screen recording → watch through to the end → stop
Downside: quality depends on your screen resolution; background sounds and notifications may be captured.
Method 2: Klypio (if the Story has a share link)
Some Zalo Stories allow external sharing. If the Story has a share button, copy the link → paste it into klypio.com/app to download the original quality MP4.
For regular Zalo videos (non-Story), Klypio supports direct download — see how to download Zalo status videos.
Important Notes
- Save only Stories from friends, family, or shops you follow — for personal use
- Don't distribute or commercially use others' content without permission
- Stories delete after 24h — if you want to save, act immediately
What If the Story Is Your Own?
For your own Stories, save the original video to your phone's gallery before posting to Zalo. Once a Story auto-deletes, Zalo has no recovery option. Plan ahead.
