Facebook Reels — short vertical videos that spread fast. But when you save one through the Facebook app, it arrives with a "Reels" logo and the account handle stamped on it. To get a clean file, you need to fetch it directly from Facebook's servers before the watermark gets added.
Why does Facebook add a watermark to downloaded Reels?
Facebook embeds the watermark when you use the in-app "Save video" button — a deliberate branding decision so videos carry the Facebook Reels label when shared elsewhere. There's no in-app setting to disable it. The only way around it is to download the original file before Facebook's processing layer applies the overlay.
