PlayStation's Share feature (PS4/PS5) automatically saves your best gaming moments. Those clips belong to you — but internal PS storage is limited. If you don't export them in time, you may need to delete older clips to make room for new recordings.
This guide explains how to bulk export all your own PlayStation Share clips — quickly and without losing anything.
Where Does PlayStation Store Clips?
On PS4/PS5, clips are stored in the Media Gallery. Access it by pressing the Share button or navigating from the main menu → Gallery.
Clips are saved as MP4 (PS4) or MP4/WEBM (PS5). While internal storage is 500GB or 1TB depending on the model, modern games consume most of that space, leaving less room for clips than you'd expect.
How to Bulk Export Your PlayStation Clips
Method 1 — USB drive (simplest)
- Plug a USB drive (formatted FAT32 or exFAT) into your PS4/PS5
- Go to Gallery → Video Clips
- Press Options → Copy to USB Storage Device
- Select all → Confirm
- Connect the USB to your PC and copy to cloud or external drive
Method 2 — PlayStation App on mobile
The PlayStation app (iOS/Android) lets you browse your Gallery remotely. On PS5, you can download clips to your phone through the app. However, it doesn't support fully automated bulk downloads — better for small clip libraries.
Method 3 — PS5 automatic cloud sharing
PS5 supports automatic uploads to PlayStation Network and direct sharing to YouTube or Twitter. Not a traditional bulk export, but a convenient way to quickly save highlights to the cloud.
Method 4 — Capture card (highest quality)
If you want the highest-quality captures without going through PlayStation Share, connect your PS to a PC using a capture card (Elgato, AVerMedia). Clips save directly to your PC in real time — no need to export after the fact.
Organizing Your Clips After Export
- Organize by game folder:
PS_Clips/[GameName]/[YYYY-MM]/ - Use descriptive file names:
[GameName]-[YYYYMMDD]-highlight.mp4 - Upload to Google Drive or OneDrive for cloud backup
