How to Export and Save Spatial Video from iPhone 15 Pro to Your

iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro shoot Spatial Video for Apple Vision Pro. Here's how to export, save, and back up Spatial Video files from your iPhone to a computer.

Spatial Video is Apple's stereoscopic 3D format, introduced alongside the Vision Pro headset and iPhone 15 Pro. The dual cameras on iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro capture two simultaneous perspectives, creating an immersive 3D effect when viewed on Vision Pro. These clips are genuinely irreplaceable memories — and they deserve a proper backup strategy.

What Spatial Video Actually Is (File Format)

Spatial Video saves as .mov files encoded with HEVC (H.265) in the MV-HEVC format, containing both left and right video streams. Files are large — roughly 130–200MB per minute at default settings. On iPhone or Vision Pro, they display as 3D. On a standard computer monitor, most players show only one eye's perspective (standard 2D).

How to Export Spatial Video from iPhone to Computer

Via AirDrop to Mac

Simplest method if you have a Mac: open Photos → select the Spatial Video → share via AirDrop. The file arrives on Mac in the original MV-HEVC format, preserving the 3D data.

Via USB Cable

  1. Connect iPhone to your computer with a Lightning or USB-C cable
  2. On Windows: open File Explorer → iPhone → Internal Storage → DCIM → find the .mov file
  3. On Mac: open Image Capture or Finder → select the Spatial Video file → export
  4. Copy the file to your computer — it retains the original format

Via iCloud Photos

With iCloud Photos enabled, Spatial Videos sync automatically. Downloading through the Photos app on Mac preserves the MV-HEVC format. Downloading via iCloud.com in a browser typically delivers a 2D version only.

What Klypio Does (and Doesn't Do) Here

Klypio focuses on downloading video from streaming platforms — YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo, and similar sites. For backing up Spatial Video from your device, you'll want iCloud, AirDrop, or direct USB transfer. If you later upload a Spatial Video to YouTube or another platform, Klypio can help save that version — though platforms currently transcode 3D content differently.

Playback on Non-Apple Devices

  • VLC (latest version) can open MV-HEVC files but shows 2D only
  • Whirligig VR and similar VR players support side-by-side 3D display
  • Apple TV app on Mac plays the correct Spatial format when connected to Vision Pro
